DynaVap makes the only major vaporizer line in the world that runs without a battery. There’s no charging port, no firmware, no internal electronics to fail. You heat the stainless steel or glass cap with a butane torch or induction heater, wait for an audible click, and inhale. DynaVap was founded in 2015 by George Breiwa, a former US Navy nuclear submarine technician turned inventor, in DeForest, Wisconsin. Breiwa holds patents in 14 countries and built the company around a single product idea: a vaporizer with no battery, no electronics, and no electrical heating element. The brand’s name for the category is “Thermal Extraction Device,” or TED, which is more accurate than “vaporizer” given there’s no electronic vaporization happening. Heat comes from outside the device, either a butane torch flame or an induction heater, applied directly to the metal or glass cap that holds the heating mass. The cap clicks when it reaches vaporization temperature, you inhale, and a second click on cool-down tells you the session is done. Every other vaporizer brand sells you a device with a battery, a heating coil and software. DynaVap sells you a precision-machined piece of metal or glass with no moving parts that you heat externally. That’s the entire product. The implications run deep. The device cannot run out of charge mid-session because there’s no charge. The device cannot suffer firmware bugs or battery degradation because there’s no firmware and no battery. The second distinctive is the click mechanism. The cap contains a bimetallic disc that snaps audibly when it hits vaporization temperature and snaps again when it cools below working temp. There’s no display, no thermometer, no LED. The click is the entire user interface for temperature, and it works reliably because metal expansion at known temperatures is a physical certainty. The G3 is DynaVap’s all-glass entry-level device and the cheapest way into the brand by a wide margin. The body is a single piece of borosilicate glass, the Captive Cap is stainless steel, and the kit ships in a metal tin with a torch lighter included. There’s nothing else to buy to use it. Just under 3 inches tall and weighing 7.5 grams, it’s the most pocket-discreet DynaVap by some distance.
The 0.05g chamber is intentionally small, optimised for microdoses and one-hit sessions rather than long burns. A permanent glass screen is moulded into the unibody, which means there are no screens to replace and no joints to clean. The tri-lobe midsection design prevents the device from rolling off a flat surface. The 10mm mouthpiece is water-pipe compatible if you want to add water filtration to the draw. Two pieces total, both glass and stainless steel, no consumables.
The B2 is the second generation of the B-series and the most travel-friendly DynaVap in the range. The stem is flexible silicone rather than glass or steel, which means you can throw it in a pocket or backpack without worrying about breakage. The redesigned stem shape doubles as an anti-roll feature when set down. The chamber capacity is 0.075g, around 50% larger than the original B and large enough for proper sessions rather than just microdoses.
Despite the silicone exterior, the vapour itself travels through a stainless steel airpath via the condenser, so flavour and durability of the vapour-touched parts is unchanged from a steel-bodied DynaVap. The cap is engineered to click at 350°F (177°C). Built-in 10mm water-piece compatibility means you can pair it with a compact bubbler for cooler draws. The B2 kit ships with the DynaTorch lighter included.
The M7 is the flagship of the M-series and the most popular DynaVap full stop. Constructed entirely from stainless steel, around 4 inches tall and weighing 20 grams, it’s the device most longtime DynaVap users have settled on as their daily driver. The 0.1g chamber is twice the size of the G3’s and large enough for proper communal sessions or extended solo use.
The M7 introduces a few engineering refinements over earlier M-series devices. The M7 Tip is built with extra mass for better heat retention, which translates to more powerful, more consistent extractions per heat cycle. The Finless Tip design reduces heat transfer from the tip up through the stem by around 20%, making the device noticeably cooler to hold during use. The Adjust-a-Bowl feature lets you shrink the chamber size by half by removing the tip and pushing the CCD screen up, useful for solo microdosing without buying a separate device. The zigzag-shaped airport on the stem gives you adjustable airflow by rotating the cap, so you can tune draw resistance to your preference.
The M7 XL is the extended-length version of the M7 for users who want more cooling time on the vapour path. The XL stem is longer than the standard M7, which means more time and surface area for the vapour to cool before reaching the mouthpiece. In practice that translates to slightly smoother, less harsh draws at higher temperatures, particularly useful for users who prefer the boiling point of less-volatile compounds.
The internals are otherwise identical to the standard M7. Same stainless steel build, same M7 Tip with extra mass, same Finless Tip heat-transfer reduction, same zigzag adjustable airport, same Adjust-a-Bowl feature, same hybrid heating, same 0.1g chamber capacity. The M7 and M7 XL can be used with concentrates as well as dry herbs. The G3 and B2 are designed primarily for dry herb use. With any DynaVap, vapourising concentrates requires more careful heat control because of the lower vapourization temperatures involved.
DynaVap devices have effectively unlimited lifespans because there are no batteries or electronics to fail. Original M-series devices sold in 2015 are still in regular daily use today. The only consumables on the device are o-rings (cheap and easy to replace) and the CCD screen (cheap and easy to replace). Replace those occasionally and the device itself should outlast just about any battery-powered vaporizer on the market.
Slight. The first few sessions involve learning to listen for the click and develop a feel for how long to heat the cap. Most users have the basics down within a session or two. Heating too little gives weak vapour, heating too much can scorch the herb, and the click is the audible cue that you’re in the right window. Induction heaters (versus torches) reduce the learning curve significantly because they apply more even heat for a more consistent click timing.
