Shop portable vaporizers in the UK from PAX, Storz & Bickel, Arizer, Puffco, Dr. Dabber, DaVinci, DynaVap, G Pen, AirVape and XMax. Our range covers portable dry herb vaporizers, concentrate vaporizers and e-rigs, from compact everyday devices to premium models built for longer sessions and greater control.

A portable vaporizer lets you use dry herb or concentrates without being tied to a desktop setup. Some are genuinely pocket-sized, while larger portables give you more heating power, longer battery life, larger chambers or stronger cooling.

The best choice depends on what you vape and how you use it. Size, battery life, heating method, temperature control and vapour path can all make a noticeable difference, so it is worth comparing more than price alone.

Dry Herb and Concentrate Vaporizers

Portable vaporizers generally fall into two main groups: devices for dry herb and devices built for concentrates.

Portable dry herb vaporizers heat ground botanical material inside an oven or chamber without burning it. Our dry herb range includes compact devices for quick sessions as well as larger portables designed around stronger heating systems, longer battery life and more control.

Brands including PAX, Storz & Bickel, Arizer, DaVinci, DynaVap, G Pen, AirVape and XMax all take different approaches to portable dry herb vaping. You can see the complete selection in our Dry Herb Vaporizers category.

Portable concentrate vaporizers use a chamber or atomiser designed for extracts such as wax and similar concentrates. Puffco and Dr. Dabber cover much of this side of our portable range, from compact devices such as the Puffco Pivot and Dr. Dabber Ghost 2 to larger portable e-rigs including the Peak and Peak Pro 3DXL. Some portable dry herb models, including the XMax V4 Pro, can also support concentrates with the correct accessory.

See our Concentrate Vaporizers category if you want to browse concentrate devices separately.

How to Choose a Portable Vaporizer

Start with the material you want to use. After that, these are the features that make the biggest difference in everyday use.

Size and Portability

There is a big difference between a vaporizer that comfortably fits in a trouser pocket and one that is better carried in a jacket or bag. PAX, G Pen, DaVinci, AirVape and XMax offer compact dry herb options, while the Puffco Pivot and Dr. Dabber Ghost 2 bring a similar pocket-friendly format to concentrates.

Larger devices such as the Mighty+, Venty and Arizer Solo range sacrifice some pocketability for more power, cooling and battery capacity.

Battery Life

If you regularly vape away from a charger, battery life becomes more important. Larger portables usually have room for greater battery capacity, while some devices use removable batteries so you can carry a charged spare.

Models such as the XMax V4 Pro also use a removable 18650 battery, which can be useful for longer days away from a charger.

Battery-free vaporizers are another option. DynaVap devices use a torch or induction heater instead of an internal battery, so they never need to be plugged in.

Temperature Control

Some portable vaporizers use a few preset heat levels, while others allow precise temperature adjustment directly on the device. Presets keep things simple. Precise control gives you more freedom to adjust the temperature and change how a session feels.

Chamber Size

A larger chamber makes sense for longer sessions, while a smaller oven can suit lighter use and smaller loads. Some vaporizers also use half-pack lids, dosing capsules or adjustable chambers, giving you more flexibility over how much you load.

Conduction, Convection and Hybrid Heating

Conduction vaporizers heat the herb through contact with the chamber. They can be compact, fast and straightforward to use.

Convection vaporizers use heated air passing through the herb as you draw. This can give you more control over extraction and reduce the amount of time the material spends sitting against a hot oven. The XMax V4 Pro is one example of a portable convection vaporizer and offers both Session and On-Demand modes.

Hybrid vaporizers combine conduction and convection. Many high-performance portable devices use a hybrid system to balance quick heating with consistent vapour production.

Heating type is useful when comparing devices, but it should not be considered on its own. Airflow, oven design, temperature control and cooling can matter just as much.

Vapour Path and Cooling

The route between the heating chamber and your mouth affects temperature, airflow and flavour. Arizer uses removable glass stems across much of its portable range, while DaVinci uses materials such as zirconia through key parts of its IQ vapour path. Concentrate devices take their own approach too, with the Dr. Dabber Ghost 2 using an isolated glazed ceramic vapour path between its chamber and mouthpiece.

Portable Vaporizer Brands

The easiest way to narrow a large range is to look at what each manufacturer does particularly well.

Storz & Bickel is a strong choice when heating performance and airflow matter more than having the smallest device possible. Its portable range includes the Venty, Mighty+, Crafty+ and Veazy, with hybrid heating used across the range.

PAX focuses on compact dry herb vaporizers with simple controls and aluminium bodies. The current generation includes the PAX 4, PAX Flow and PAX Mini 2, giving you a choice between an all-round portable, a higher-airflow model and a smaller entry point into the range.

Arizer is particularly well suited to users who value glass in the vapour path. The Solo 3, Solo 2 MAX, Air Max, Air SE and Go SRT cover a range of sizes, with removable glass stems making the vapour path simple to clean and replace.

Puffco specialises in concentrates. The Pivot is the most pocket-friendly option, while the Proxy takes a modular approach. The Peak and Peak Pro 3DXL move towards a larger e-rig format for users who prioritise concentrate performance over pocket size.

Dr. Dabber focuses on concentrate vaporizers and e-rigs. The Ghost 2 brings that approach into a compact portable format, with five temperature settings, three heating modes and radial heating around the concentrate chamber. Its isolated ceramic vapour path also keeps the route from chamber to mouthpiece separate from the electronics.

DaVinci builds compact dry herb vaporizers around temperature control, replaceable batteries and carefully chosen vapour-path materials. The IQ3 sits at the top of the range, the IQ Core is the main everyday model, and the MIQRO-C is the smaller option for shorter sessions.

DynaVap is completely different from a conventional electronic portable. Models such as the M7, M7 XL, B2 and G3 contain no battery. Instead, you heat the cap using a torch or induction heater and use its temperature click to guide each cycle.

G Pen offers straightforward portable dry herb vaporizers such as the Dash 2 and Dash+. They make sense if you want something compact and rechargeable without moving into the size or price of a larger premium portable.

AirVape covers both small everyday devices and more advanced dry herb vaporizers. The XS Go sits at the compact end of the range, while the Legacy Core and Legacy Pro 2 offer more features and greater control.

XMax offers feature-rich portable vaporizers at an accessible price point. The XMax V4 Pro combines convection heating with Session and On-Demand modes, adjustable airflow, precise temperature control and a removable 18650 battery. It is primarily a dry herb vaporizer but can also be used with concentrates using the supplied wax cup.

Which Portable Vaporizer Should You Choose?

For maximum portability: look at smaller dry herb models from PAX, G Pen, DaVinci, AirVape and XMax, or compact concentrate devices such as the Puffco Pivot and Dr. Dabber Ghost 2.

For high-performance dry herb vaping: compare Storz & Bickel, the Arizer Solo range and DaVinci’s larger IQ models.

For a glass vapour path: Arizer is the obvious place to start.

For on-demand convection: the XMax V4 Pro is worth considering, particularly if you also want a removable battery and precise temperature control.

For battery-free vaping: choose DynaVap and heat it with a torch or induction heater.

For concentrates: compare Puffco and Dr. Dabber. Both offer dedicated concentrate devices, ranging from pocket-sized vaporizers to larger e-rig formats.

For a first dry herb vaporizer: G Pen, AirVape and XMax offer straightforward options at more accessible price points, while PAX and DaVinci provide more premium compact alternatives.

Portable Vaporizer FAQs

What is the best portable vaporizer?

The best model depends on what matters most to you. Storz & Bickel and Arizer are strong choices if dry herb performance is the priority. PAX, DaVinci, G Pen, AirVape and XMax offer more compact dry herb options, while DynaVap suits users who want a battery-free device. For concentrates, Puffco and Dr. Dabber both offer dedicated portable options.

Which portable vaporizer is best for beginners?

Look for simple controls, easy loading and straightforward cleaning. G Pen, AirVape and XMax offer accessible options, while PAX and DaVinci are worth considering if you want a more premium compact device. If portability is less important, a larger vaporizer can also give you longer battery life and stronger performance without being difficult to use.

Are all portable vaporizers for dry herb?

No. Many portable vaporizers are designed for dry herb, while others are built specifically for concentrates. Puffco and Dr. Dabber both make portable concentrate vaporizers, while brands such as PAX, Arizer and DynaVap focus more heavily on dry herb. Some models, including the XMax V4 Pro, can support both with the correct accessory.

Is convection better than conduction?

Not automatically. Convection, conduction and hybrid vaporizers can all perform very well. The complete design of the device, including airflow, oven, temperature control and cooling, matters more than the heating method alone.

Do portable vaporizers need batteries?

Most electronic portable vaporizers use rechargeable batteries. However, DynaVap vaporizers have no battery or electronics and use an external heat source such as a torch or induction heater.
