Shop desktop vaporizers and tabletop systems in the UK from Storz & Bickel, Arizer, Puffco, Dr. Dabber and Stündenglass. Our range covers dry herb desktops, concentrate e-rigs and gravity-filtered setups designed primarily for use at home.

Desktop vaporizers are designed for users who do not need a pocket-sized device. Their larger format allows for features such as balloon filling, whip delivery, water filtration and powerful mains-powered heating systems.

The category also includes tabletop devices that work differently from a traditional desktop vaporizer, including battery-powered e-rigs such as the Puffco Peak range and Dr. Dabber Switch GO, as well as the Stündenglass Gravity Infuser. The guide below explains the different formats and how to choose between them.

Desktop and Tabletop Vaporizers

The desktop category covers several different types of home-use device.

Traditional plug-in desktop vaporizers are powered from a mains outlet and heat dry herb inside a chamber. The Volcano Classic and Volcano Hybrid from Storz & Bickel, together with the Arizer XQ2 and Extreme Q, provide powerful home setups with delivery methods such as balloons, whips and tubes.

Tabletop electronic e-rigs are designed for concentrates. Devices such as the Puffco Peak, Peak Pro 3DXL and Dr. Dabber Switch GO use rechargeable batteries rather than mains power, but their water-filled glass attachments and larger format make them particularly well suited to tabletop use.

Gravity infusers take another approach. The Stündenglass Gravity Infuser uses 360° rotation, water displacement and gravity to create controlled airflow through two borosilicate glass globes. It comes with a 14mm glass bowl and can also connect to compatible vaporizers and concentrate attachments through its universal 14mm fitting.

Balloon, Whip, Water and Gravity Delivery

One of the main advantages of a desktop setup is the wider choice of delivery methods.

Balloon bags fill with vapour from the device and then detach. Once filled, the balloon can be used at your own pace or passed between users. The Volcano Classic, Volcano Hybrid, Arizer XQ2 and Extreme Q support balloon delivery.

Whips and tubes let you draw directly from the vaporizer without filling a balloon first. The Arizer XQ2 and Extreme Q support whip use, while the Volcano Hybrid adds tube delivery alongside its balloon system.

Water filtration is central to tabletop e-rigs such as the Puffco Peak, Peak Pro 3DXL and Dr. Dabber Switch GO. Vapour passes through a water-filled glass attachment before reaching the mouthpiece, helping to cool the draw.

Gravity delivery is what makes the Stündenglass different. Rotating the two glass globes moves water from one side to the other, creating the pressure that draws through the connected bowl or vaporizer attachment. Rotating the unit again uses the movement of the water to push the filtered output towards the mouthpiece or hose.

Dry Herb or Concentrates

The material you use is the first thing to consider when choosing a desktop setup.

Dry herb desktop vaporizers heat ground botanical material inside a chamber without burning it. Storz & Bickel and Arizer provide the main traditional dry herb desktop options in our range. See our Dry Herb Vaporizers category to compare desktop and portable models.

Concentrate e-rigs use dedicated electronic chambers or inserts for extracts such as wax and similar concentrates. Puffco’s tabletop devices and the Dr. Dabber Switch GO are designed specifically around this type of use. See our Concentrate Vaporizers category for the complete range.

The Stündenglass Gravity Infuser is more flexible because the gravity system works around whatever compatible setup is attached to its 14mm connection. With the supplied glass bowl, dry herb is heated externally before the gravity action draws the smoke through the water system. Alternatively, a compatible vaporizer or concentrate attachment can be connected to use the same gravity-powered filtration and delivery system.

How to Choose a Desktop Vaporizer

Once you know which material you use, compare the delivery method, heating system and type of session you want.

Choose the Right Material

For dry herb vaporization, compare the Storz & Bickel and Arizer desktop ranges. For concentrates, Puffco and Dr. Dabber provide purpose-built electronic e-rigs. If you want a gravity-powered water-filtration system that can work with a supplied bowl or compatible vaporizer and concentrate attachments, look at Stündenglass.

Choose Your Delivery Method

If you like filling a detachable balloon, compare the Volcano and Arizer models that support balloon use. For direct whip or tube draws, look at Arizer or the Volcano Hybrid.

If water filtration is important, Puffco’s Peak range and the Dr. Dabber Switch GO provide it in dedicated electronic concentrate setups. Stündenglass takes a different approach, using rotating globes, water displacement and gravity with the choice of direct or hose delivery.

Mains Power, Battery or Gravity?

Traditional desktop vaporizers use mains electricity, so there is no battery level to manage during longer home sessions.

Puffco’s tabletop e-rigs and the Dr. Dabber Switch GO use rechargeable batteries, which gives them more flexibility despite their larger glass format.

The Stündenglass gravity mechanism works through manual rotation and water displacement. With the supplied bowl, the material is heated externally. The 14mm connection also allows compatible powered vaporizer or concentrate attachments to be used with the gravity system.

Think About Space and Setup

A desktop device normally stays in one place, so size matters differently than it does with a portable vaporizer. Volcano and Arizer units need space for the device and their balloons or whips. Puffco and Dr. Dabber e-rigs have smaller footprints but include glass that needs to be filled and handled carefully.

The full-size Stündenglass is a substantial tabletop setup with two glass globes and a weighted frame. It makes more sense as a home setup or display piece than something you regularly carry around.

Desktop Vaporizer Brands

Storz & Bickel is the German manufacturer behind the Volcano range. The Volcano Classic uses a manual temperature dial and balloon delivery, while the Volcano Hybrid adds digital temperature control, tube delivery and Bluetooth connectivity alongside its balloon system.

Arizer offers home vaporizers built around removable glass components and flexible delivery. The XQ2 supports balloon and whip use as well as fan-assisted operation, while the Extreme Q provides a more accessible route into Arizer’s desktop range.

Puffco covers the electronic concentrate side of the category. The Peak provides a straightforward water-filtered e-rig setup, while the Peak Pro 3DXL adds more control and connected features for users who want a more advanced concentrate device.

Dr. Dabber also specialises in electronic concentrate rigs. The Dr. Dabber Switch GO combines a removable quartz insert with electronic heating and a water-filled glass attachment in a compact rechargeable e-rig. Its smaller format makes it easier to transport than a traditional desktop while still fitting naturally into a tabletop setup.

Stündenglass takes a completely different approach to tabletop use. The Stündenglass Gravity Infuser combines 360° rotation, water displacement and twin glass globes to create a gravity-powered filtration and delivery system. Its universal 14mm connection works with the supplied glass bowl as well as compatible vaporizer and concentrate attachments.

Which Desktop Setup Should You Choose?

For classic balloon vaping: compare the Volcano Classic, Volcano Hybrid and Arizer desktop models.

For both balloon and direct tube or whip use: look at the Volcano Hybrid, Arizer XQ2 and Extreme Q.

For dry herb vaporization at home: Storz & Bickel and Arizer are the main traditional desktop vaporizer ranges.

For concentrates: Puffco’s Peak range and the Dr. Dabber Switch GO give you purpose-built electronic heating with water filtration.

For gravity-powered filtration: Stündenglass provides a completely different tabletop experience, using rotating glass globes and water displacement with a supplied bowl or compatible 14mm attachments.

For simpler operation: focus on how much control you actually need. A straightforward desktop can make more sense than paying for additional delivery modes or connected features that you will rarely use.

Desktop Vaporizer FAQs

What is a desktop vaporizer?

A desktop vaporizer is designed mainly for home use rather than carrying in a pocket. Traditional models use mains-powered heaters and can offer features such as balloon or whip delivery. Our wider desktop category also includes tabletop concentrate e-rigs and gravity-filtration systems because they are designed around a similar home-use format.

What is the difference between balloon, whip and water-filtered delivery?

A balloon fills with vapour and then detaches from the vaporizer. A whip or tube lets you draw directly from the device. Water-filtered systems pass the output through water before it reaches the user, while Stündenglass uses water displacement and gravity to create airflow through the connected setup.

How does the Stündenglass Gravity Infuser work?

The Stündenglass uses two rotating glass globes filled with water. As the unit rotates and water moves between the globes, it creates pressure that draws through the connected bowl or attachment and fills the opposite globe. Rotating it again pushes the filtered output through the mouthpiece or hose. With the supplied 14mm bowl, the material is heated externally, while compatible vaporizer and concentrate attachments can also be connected.

Are battery-powered e-rigs desktop vaporizers?

Devices such as the Puffco Peak, Peak Pro 3DXL and Dr. Dabber Switch GO are rechargeable and can be transported, so they are not traditional mains-powered desktop vaporizers. We also group them in the desktop category because their larger water-filtered format makes them particularly well suited to tabletop concentrate use.

What is the difference between the Volcano Classic and Volcano Hybrid?

The Volcano Classic uses a manual temperature dial and is designed around balloon delivery. The Volcano Hybrid uses digital temperature controls and supports both balloon and tube use, along with Bluetooth connectivity for additional control.
