The Volcano Classic Vaporizer by Storz & Bickel is one of the best-known desktop dry herb vaporizers ever made. First introduced in 2000, it has earned its reputation through strong build quality, clean flavour and dependable performance. It does not rely on apps, screens or complicated settings. Instead, it gives users a simple, reliable desktop setup that still feels relevant more than 20 years later.
The Volcano Classic uses full convection heating, so hot air passes through the herb to extract vapour evenly. This helps produce smooth, clean flavour without combustion. The filling chamber holds around 600mg, making it a good choice for longer home sessions or sharing with others.
It takes around 5 minutes to heat up at 180°C, so it is not made for rushed sessions. However, once it is ready, the EASY VALVE Balloon system delivers steady, comfortable vapour with very little effort.
The Volcano Classic fills detachable EASY VALVE balloons with vapour instead of using a direct draw mouthpiece. This makes the vapour cooler and easier to enjoy, while also giving you the freedom to pause, pass the balloon around or take your time. Because the built-in air pump moves the vapour into the balloon, there is virtually no draw resistance.
Temperature is adjusted with the familiar analogue dial. There are 9 preset temperature levels across a range of 130°C to 230°C, giving users enough control without making the device feel technical. The two-button layout keeps things simple too, with one button for heat and one for the air pump.
Made in Germany, the Volcano Classic has a solid, no-fuss feel that suits regular home use. Its cone-shaped housing, fixed power cord and straightforward controls all add to the sense that this is a device built to last.
